Template:Types of goods[edit]

Not a useful template, see Commons:Village pump#How useful is Template:Types of goods?:

  • We do not need this template on Commons:
    • The template contains unclear concepts and a mix of concepts from economic theory and daily use of the word "good". This alone is reason enough to define it as "not useful".
    • A template like this one is only fit for gallery pages, not for categories, and it should not be on top, but on the bottom of a page. Because it is not expected to have soon many gallery pages of the (rather abstract) concepts mentioned in the template, we do not need this template to guide us through them.
    • There is a better alternative: Category:Types of goods (already exists, but does not contain yet all the subcategories that should be in it and it should have a description).
  • So This template can be removed from the categories it is in now, and then be deleted. Note: check whether these categories all have proper parents.

I concur. Delete. - Jmabel ! talk 03:57, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per comments at the VP discussion. Josh (talk) 04:02, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per discussion, and a larger principle: Commons categories are not Wikipedia articles. Most freeform categories, like these, do not need navigation templates to be navigable; parent/child relationships should be sufficient. Omphalographer (talk) 20:13, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Delete mostly non-existing categories (9 years after creation). It's not even clear if these categories would be helpful at Commons. Enhancing999 (talk) 06:08, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
