Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Tire code SVG[edit]

I must say you did a pretty good work on this, I would like to add I was also working on SVG'ing this and had most of the image done already and found it was already available in SVG 30 minutes later haha, I had the mountain+snowflake logo done already so I just pasted it in yours instead :) TiCPU (talk) 26 September 2009

Categories[edit]

I'm, sorry, but you are mistaken. Those flags do belong in the Naval Ensigns category. We have categories for flags based on common features or use. This is in keeping with such categories as "blue ensigns" and "state ensigns". Sorry, I've been at work all day. I still disagree that the Egyptian ensigns shouldn't be in the Naval Ensigns category. As I said, it's a common category for all naval ensigns. I understand that there's such a thing as over-categorization, but I don't feel this is it. Some flags have over a dozen categories or more. The Egyptian ensigns has far less.
