The distressed letter U makes this a borderline TOO case. Grandmaster Huon (talk) 01:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Actually it is a very clear case, the "U" has two diagonal lines and some random white dust, thats far below the high TOO in the US (not sufficiently original enough).  Keep. TheImaCow (talk) 13:16, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The YouTube channel of the Philippine TV program w:en:Rated Korina is indeed valid and licenses their episodes on YouTube under suitable free licenses. However, the cited YouTube video where this screenshot is obtained is from Korina Interviews. Although both "Rated Korina" and "Korina Interviews" are hosted by the same person, the production companies of both shows are different, and it is not sure if the CC license given by Rated Korina on the cited video extends to the episodes of Korina Interviews, produced by w:en:Brightlight Productions. Rated Korina is currently produced by ABS-CBN. Deletion request made to allow further discussion. JWilz12345 (Talk|Contrib's.) 05:52, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mixing content from the other production company would be a concern, unless Korina gives a go to let both production companies to release content under CC BY. Not all CC BY videos on YouTube are free of fair use content. Ahri.boy (talk) 14:32, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Most if not all of the Artwork is from Alberto Giacometti who died in 1966. The art was exhibited in a room in Venice, Italy which counts with a standard of life + 70 years. There is no FoP in Italy. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 11:27, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour,
Autant que je sache il n'y a aucune raison de supprimer ledit fichier, qui sert actuellement à un article, il me semble que l'on peut donc conserver le fichier.
Cordialement Monsieur Guerin (talk) 17:16, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Works seems de minimis because there are many and the major subject is the person; furthermore, the info on the photo by Paolo Monti (like the original scan on the BEIC digital catalog) shows that it was commissioned ("Occasione: Documentazione della Biennale di Venezia del 1962 [...]") so the artist and the gallery gave permission" --Spinoziano (BEIC) (talk) 06:32, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure the artist and the gallery gave permission to take the photograph from a professional. But commons is not a storage for only professional photographs and they can also be used for other purposes which do not reflect the interests of the original authors. Switzerland does not know a FoP for interior views. And that FoP is not valid for the interiors of churches is specifically mentioned. Switzerland has a standard of life + 70 years, its architects are Dubach & Gloor and the church was built in 1960 and it's not in the public domain for some years to come.

Paradise Chronicle (talk) 16:54, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep. There is nothing substantively creative shown in terms of architecture. It is a plain white wall with a simple cross. The cloth work in the background might be de minimis or could be cropped out/blurred. IronGargoyle (talk) 04:01, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

COM:PACKAGING DanielPenfield (talk) 18:44, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The packaging restriction doesn't cover this photo because each package takes a tiny part of the image and because the details of the packaging can't be made out at standard viewing sizes. Collectively this means the packages are so insignificant as to be incidental. Further, the purpose of this photo isn't to show the packaging, it is to show how the eclipse was being used to advertise products for party planning. The actual products being advertised aren't really important, just that it was a large, prominent display. Lorax (talk) 00:37, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Files in Category:Grammar Nazi icons[edit]

With the rise of antisemitism and Islamophobia fueled by neo-Nazism, I don't think having these kind of images is conducive at all to Wikimedia Commons. The term "grammar Nazi" is already offensive in of itself, to make images derived from racist and bigoted media and use them in a non-academic way is a bit too much. I only see this file BTW being used in userboxes, etc. as well as a small handful of articles where the image is not at all conducive.

They are discriminatory. Per COM:SCOPE Commons primarily includes images used to foster education. Modifying hate symbols to use them in a noneducational manner is not in scope. Aasim (talk) 06:25, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This file was initially tagged by StomboyCarGeek as Copyvio (Copyvio) and the most recent rationale was: 3D, metallic logo. Fair Use are not allowed on Commons.
