Files' descriptions state that those are traditional drawings on paper and authorship claimed by User:VPosypai, but those definitely are digital works. Looks like those could be just modified real photos, and there is no indication that VPosypai is the owner of original photos. Siradan (talk) 06:50, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

 Delete all, including cropped versions. These "drawings" were clearly produced by applying some sort of image filter to photos. Even if the source photos are freely licensed, the original photos would be of greater educational value. On the other hand, if the source photos aren't freely licensed, these are copyright violations as unauthorized derivative works.
One image I was able to find the source for was File:Tomaž Planina by VPosypai.jpg - this is clearly based on File:Tomaž Planina in a cave ~ 1981.jpg, and I've swapped to that photo on Wikidata. Omphalographer (talk) 17:12, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is no commercial Freedom of Panorama in Ukraine. According to w:uk:Вікіпедія:Вікі любить пам'ятки/Луганська область/Ровеньківський район/Хрустальненська громада, it dates to "1941—1942; 1958". It may be out of copyright in Ukraine if the sculptor is anonymous, but 1941 means it was still in copyright on the COM:URAA date, so the U.S. copyright was given to this monument. URAA can be ignored only if Ukraine gave Wikimedia a commercial FoP for all public art. More images of Ukrainian monuments (especially those submitted thru WLM contests) must be reviewed for sculptural monuments that possibly date to 1929 and onwards. Hi,
The Norwegian copyright law has a 70 year limit and it is 62 years since Sørensen died, as you write. There is a clause in the law that artwork can be photographed and published if they are part of a scene. My picture could be of that kind, but I don't know. At least it's not possible to make a copy of it for an illustration due to the angle etc. But whatever decision is made by Wikipedia, i'm OK with. Bair175 (talk) 11:53, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About the other paintings: According to niku.no the (other?) painters were:

  • Alf Rolfsen (died in 1979, so not 70 years dead either); according to EN-WP he painted three of the walls in the Central Hall of the Oslo City Hall: the northern wall is (Arbeidets Norge fra de drivende garn til skovene i øst), the eastern wall (Okkupasjonshistorien) and the western wall (St. Hallvard in recognition of Oslo's patron saint).
  • Alex Revold (died in 1962, so not dead for at least 70 years either)
  • Per Krogh (died in 1965, so not dead for at least 70 years either)
  • Åge Storstein (died in 1983, so not dead for at least 70 years either); according to w:no:Aage Storstein he decorated the West gallery.

But this photo has a totally different theme: it is about the liberation of Norway, it shows happy children because of that.
This deletion request is not about other photos, it is just about File:Oslo museum 20070531 DSCN2844.jpg and whether this photo meets the criteria of Commons. Please mention why THIS photo should stay, how it fits within Commons:Project scope, how it can be reused, in what kind of articles. Because I do not see such a reason, I only see a snapshot of an unknown women sitting on the stairs of a museum, not interesting for other people and so not suitable for Commons. Il me semble qu'il y a bien une liberté de panorama en France introduite par la loi de 2016 sur la "République numérique". A l'occasion d'un récent procès à propos de l'utilisation d'une œuvre de street art dans un clip de campagne de la France insoumise, le tribunal a indiqué les éléments suivants : "la "liberté de panorama" permet ainsi à toute personne de photographier, filmer, dessiner, etc… les œuvres d’architecture et de sculpture, ainsi que les graffitis dont ils sont éventuellement couverts, dès lors qu’ils sont situés en permanence sur la voie publique, pourvu, prévoit le droit français, que la reproduction soit le fait d’une personne physique, à des fins non commerciales".

Il me semble justement (mais je peux me tromper aussi, je suis loin d'être expert sur le sujet), que Wiki Commons n'accepte que des licences permettant la réutilisation à des fins commerciales : commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Licensing/fr. Cela exclurait donc la liberté de panorama, qui exclut toute utilisation commerciale (comme tu l'indiques, et comme indiqué par [le paragraphe Commons sur la liberté de panorama].

The Pittsburgh Pirates last wore a uniform like the one pictured here in 1946. On rereading w:Wikipedia:Public domain#Unpublished works (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Public_domain&oldid=1216751467#Unpublished_works), I realize that this painting's display did not constitute publication. As I have no evidence this painting was published in copies, I don't know whether or not it was published prior to 1929. The earliest publication I can verify was as the cover of A People and a Nation (1971) by Clarence ver Steeg and Richard Hofstadter, but without a physical copy I can't be sure whether the cover was a dust jacket or bound to the book and on top of that whether the dust jacket had a copyright notice. These all fail COM:PARTYPICS and have fundamentally no useful purpose per commons scope, on top of generally being poor-quality images, underexposed, watermarked, etc. There's a lot more, if not most, of User:XxakixX's total uploads that fall under the same prurient interest, low-utility category—I fail to see what taking someone's personal snapshot by a pool provides in terms of educational content, i.e. File:Proper Tennis Club Attire.jpg, for example—but these are egregious, recent examples of what are fundamentally creepshots being uploaded and hoarded here. --David Fuchs (talk) 19:30, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Events are often in scope, and on the surface "East Coast Surfing Championship" sounds like some in-scope event. Nothing is inherently wrong with images of people in swimsuits, especially in contexts were swimsuits are common. Street photography of random people, in places where such is allowed, can sometimes be in scope. All that said, the majority of these images look to have little to no purpose beyond a Flickr photographer's personal voyeuristic interest (captions make it clear, with descriptions like "a couple of hotties"). The criterion appears to have been the license; other photos in the same album exclude commercial reuse. And years other than 2007 and 2009 include other cheesecake photos uploaded by other users (in particular in 2017, this butt shot and this other butt shot, but also the entire coverage of the Bikini Contest and the Women's Volleyball; and 2021 appears to be entirely Women's Volleyball). But the 2007 set amount to heavily watermarked cheesecake outtakes with the photographer's wishes for crediting not fully respected, and there's no compelling reason to have them. The original image belongs to a photographer by the name of Jake Misorge who has another account by the name of Jake Misoge where they are uploading images of the same artist from the same tour https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=chris+brown+party+tour&title=Special:MediaSearch&go=Go&type=image . This Jake Miosge OFFICIAL account is likely an impersonator of the other Jake Misoge account, in addition to being a sockpuppet of the Trevor MCbreed account. I have sent the email with the permission of the file. The account that is proposing the file to be deleted was blocked because “Every single user upload has been a blatant COM:NETCOPYVIO” according to User:Elcobbola. It is the same image with the exact same crop. Also forgot to add the Tweet where there the photographed artist tweeted this image in 2017 https://twitter.com/chrisbrown/status/865754892329156608 Images previously uploaded to Twitter are not free and should not be used in commons, irrespective of the crop or upscaling.
